Rifflandia Festival 2011 (photos)

Victoria's Rifflandia Festival took place from September 22-25th of this year. 2011 marked the festivals fourth year and the addition of an outdoor, daytime stage on top the usual evening concerts scattered throughout the city's live music venues. The festival is an impeccably well organized event and the line-up improves every year as does the food and drink on offer. Some highlights including an inspired set from Broken Social Scene (who much to the joy of the enthusiastic crowd, just wouldn't stop playing, including a cover of Modest Mouse's "The World at Large"). Speaking of covers Mother Mother rocked The Pixies "Gouge Away" as part of their high energy set. Cold War Kids were another crowd favourite on Saturday's Main Stage. The Knock's wooed a crowd that knew little about them going in. The Coppertone was practically forced to perform an encore despite a tight schedule. Araabmusik had Sugar Night Club absolutely packed for a jaw dropping performance. De La Soul closed out the festival with audience involving set of their own. All in all a fantastic time was had by all and we can't wait for next year! Check out some photos from this year's Rifflandia Festival below and click on any photo for a larger pic and easier navigation.
